In Duval County, Orlando Administrative Partner Jeffrey Partlow and Of Counsel Geraldine Asher prevailed on a Motion for Summary Judgment (MSJ). The Plaintiff, a home inspection company, sued the firm's clients, an insurance agent and agency, alleging defamation and tortious interference with its business relationship with another insurance agency. Summary judgment was granted on all five claims as the statements at issue were not defamatory as a matter of law, and the Plaintiff could not provide sufficient evidence of tortious interference. Once the order is entered, the clients will pursue fees based on a nominal Proposal for Settlement (PFS) that expired early in the case.
