West Palm Beach Managing Partner Barry Postman and Partner Katie Merwin recently secured a favorable jury verdict in Broward County. The Plaintiff, a former Human Resources Director of a large restaurant chain, filed suit against the company’s Chief Financial Officer, alleging sexual harassment and assault.
During cross-examination, the Plaintiff recanted several of her allegations and Mr. Postman highlighted significant inconsistencies in her testimony. Following the examination, the Plaintiff requested a monetary settlement. The defense responded that any resolution would require a final judgment explicitly stating that the Defendant did not commit the allegations asserted in the publicly filed complaint.
The Plaintiff agreed to this condition, and the court entered judgment in favor of the Defendant, formally exonerating the firm’s client.
