Orlando Partner Scott Shelton and Fort Lauderdale East Partner Jose Campos obtained a complete defense verdict on a slip and fall case in Orange County following a five day trial.
Plaintiff alleged that he was walking in the parking lot owned by our client when the painted lines in a handicap space caused him to slip and fall, shattering his kneecap. Plaintiff called a liability expert who said the paint did not contain the proper slip resistant additive and alleged various building code violations.
During closing arguments, Plaintiff asked for $6.1 million but the jury returned with a verdict of $0.
Special thanks to Orlando Associate Kaitlin Clark, Orlando Paralegal Hector Figueroa, and Orlando Legal Assistant Liz Lefforge for their help and assistance.
