Overview
Rochelle Birnbaum Chiocca is Deputy General Counsel for Cole, Scott & Kissane and serves as a member of the firm's leadership team. In her role, she advises the firm on matters involving employment practices, conflicts of interest, legal ethics, attorney professional development, risk management, and internal firm policies. She also oversees attorney recruitment and professional development initiatives firmwide, helping to attract, develop, and retain attorneys across the organization.
With more than 25 years of legal experience, Ms. Chiocca previously represented private entities throughout Florida in commercial and insurance disputes, particularly in the areas of construction, premises liability, and personal injury law. Her litigation experience spans all phases of civil litigation, providing valuable insight into the legal, ethical, and operational issues facing a large statewide law firm.
As part of her leadership responsibilities, Ms. Chiocca directs attorney recruitment efforts at CSK, including the hiring of newly licensed and lateral attorneys. She frequently visits law schools throughout Florida to meet with students and introduce them to the firm's merit-based and collaborative culture, diverse practice areas, and professional growth opportunities. She is passionate about mentoring attorneys at every stage of their careers and helping develop the next generation of leaders at CSK.
Ms. Chiocca also oversees CSK's annual Summer Associate Program. Through the program, law students gain meaningful litigation experience and receive one-on-one mentorship. Many participants return to the firm as associate attorneys following graduation.
A proud triple Nole, Ms. Chiocca received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and History, her Master of Arts in International Affairs, and her Juris Doctor, all from Florida State University. While in law school, she studied abroad at the University of Oxford as part of the FSU Summer Program in Law, served as an Articles & Notes Editor and Technical Editor of the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy, and was a member of the Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law. Ms. Chiocca is a past president of the Alumni Board of Directors of the Florida State University College of Law.
