Overview
Kerra Marie Olivera is an Associate in the firm's Fort Lauderdale East office, where her practice is focused on construction defect litigation. She works with a wide variety of clients which includes developers, contractors, subcontractors, homeowners associations and individual property owners.
Mrs. Olivera earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida International University College of Law on a full, merit-based scholarship. During law school, she was a Senior Member of the FIU Law Review and an active member of the Moot Court Team. She also distinguished herself as the FIU Annual Advanced Appellate Advocacy Champion, and received the Best Orator Award. In addition, she consistently appeared on the Dean's List for multiple semesters.
While in law school, Mrs. Olivera gained hands-on litigation experience as a Law Clerk at a plaintiff's personal injury firm and an insurance defense firm. She worked on a variety of cases which include bad faith settlement handling, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and workers' compensation cases. In these roles, she drafted demand letters, dispositive motions, and conducted extensive legal research.
Mrs. Olivera received her Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Criminology, with honors, from the University of Miami, where she also completed minors in Business Law and Communications.
In her free time, Mrs. Olivera enjoys spending time with her family, and enjoying South Florida's exciting fishing opportunities.
