Kenneth S. Rubenzer

Kenneth Scott Rubenzer is an Associate in the Fort Myers office of Cole, Scott & Kissane, where he represents businesses, insurers, and individuals in insurance defense and general civil litigation. His practice includes motor vehicle and bodily injury claims, wrongful death, construction defect, insurance coverage, contract disputes, and other general liability matters.

Mr. Rubenzer represents clients throughout the litigation process, from pre-suit investigation and evaluation through discovery, dispositive motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation. He has taken and defended depositions, argued motions and other matters before the court, negotiated settlements, and worked with medical, mental health, surveillance, and accident reconstruction experts. His approach combines careful factual development, legal analysis, and practical assessment of liability, causation, damages, and litigation risk.

Mr. Rubenzer brings a distinctive technology and cybersecurity background to his legal practice. Before joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, he served as an Attorney Product Specialist supporting Thomson Reuters' CoCounsel legal AI platform, where he evaluated AI-generated legal work product and collaborated with legal and technical teams on reliability, risk mitigation, and the responsible application of artificial intelligence to legal workflows. He previously spent more than a decade working with enterprise information technology systems and cybersecurity-related operations.

This experience informs his approach to complex matters involving technology, electronically maintained information, and evolving legal and operational risks.

Mr. Rubenzer earned his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he received a Law and Business Certificate, was named to the Dean's List, and received a Merit Scholarship. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from Bemidji State University.

Mr. Rubenzer is admitted to The Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of The Florida Bar's Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee, where his professional interests in technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and the evolving practice of law intersect.

Mr. Rubenzer also serves as a volunteer with the Guardian ad Litem Program for Florida's 20th Judicial Circuit, advocating for the best interests of children in dependency proceedings.
