Overview
Jori A. McKain is a Partner in the firm’s Miami and Fort Lauderdale East offices. He focuses his practice primarily in the area of insurance defense litigation, general civil litigation, first part property and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) litigation.
Mr. McKain attended the CUNY City College of New York where he graduated, in 2012, with a dual B.A. in Psychology and Political Science. During his time in college, he was able to take a variety of advanced legal, psychology, and political science courses and was also a member of his school’s Road to Law School Society. Mr. McKain went on to be accepted to the University of Miami School of Law and was accepted into the prestigious James Weldon Johnson (JWJ) Summer Prep Program for incoming first-year law students. After completion of the JWJ program, he began his law school career and participated, in addition to his studies, a number of successful externships including interning for Magistrate Judge John O’Sullivan and the Legal Services of Greater Miami Tenants’ Rights Clinic where he handled his own cases representing low-income clients in various public housing disputes. In 2016, Mr. McKain earned his Juris Doctor from the University Of Miami School Of Law.
Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Mr. McKain focused on matters including general negligence and premises liability. He lives in Miami and has been a member of the Florida Bar since October 2017.
