Byron Jamal Carter is an Associate in the Jacksonville office. His practice areas are insurance defense litigation, premise liability, and vehicle negligence.

Mr. Carter earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2019 and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2022.

During law school, Mr. Carter interned with the National Consumer Law Center, where he focused on consumer lending and earned wage access issues. He also gained hands-on courtroom experience with the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office in Marietta, GA, advocating on the record in matters including stipulated pleas and motions to revoke.

Prior to becoming a member of The Florida Bar, Mr. Carter worked as a middle and high school English and creative writing teacher.
