Overview
Ana Elizabeth-Bailey Bettencourt is an Associate in the firm’s Jacksonville office, where she focuses her practice on premises liability, automobile negligence, and some construction litigation. She represents clients throughout all phases of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Before joining the Jacksonville office as an Associate, Ms. Bettencourt worked as a Law Clerk in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale West office while in law school, working on Personal Injury Protection and bodily injury cases. While in law school, she also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, Civil Complex Tort Division.
Ms. Bettencourt earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. While in law school, she served as a Senior Associate on the Journal of International Law & Comparative Studies, participated in the Moot Court Honor Society, and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® in Property Law. She also achieved the Van Horn Law Group Pro Bono Gold Distinction for completing more than 300 hours of pro bono service.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, with a minor in Political Science and Pre-Law, from Flagler College, where she was a member of the Honors Program and a Dean’s List student.
