Case Summary
This case arose from a 2019 motor vehicle accident in which liability was admitted. The trial therefore focused on the nature and extent of the Plaintiff’s claimed injuries and damages.
The Plaintiff alleged permanent injuries to the back and wrist and claimed that additional medical treatment, including ongoing therapy and potential future pain management, would be necessary. In addition to past and future medical expenses, the Plaintiff sought nearly $950,000 in damages for pain and suffering.
Defense Strategy
The CSK Defense Team focused on whether the accident caused the permanent injuries alleged by the Plaintiff and whether future medical treatment was necessary. At trial, the defense presented evidence that the Plaintiff had stopped treatment and had been involved in a prior accident.

The jury found that the Defendant’s negligence caused injury but determined that the Plaintiff did not sustain a permanent injury. The jury awarded approximately $58,000 in past medical expenses, with no award for future medical care or pain and suffering.
