Defense Verdict in Premises Liability Case in Broward County

Miami Partner Henry Salas and Fort Lauderdale East Partner Patrick McCardle recently achieved a defense verdict in a four-day premises liability trial held in Broward County. The case revolved around a Plaintiff's claim that she slipped on our client’s sidewalk alleging that it was dangerously slippery. The defense countered with alternative explanations, but a key element of contention was the absence of CCTV and body-camera footage, which might have clarified the disputed circumstances. Despite this, the defense mounted a robust argument to refute the claims.

After nearly three hours of deliberation, the jury returned with a defense verdict, siding with our client. The outcome was celebrated by both the client and their carrier, who were thrilled with the result.
