Sheila M. Gonzales-Jonasz is a partner in the firm’s Miami office with an active trial practice in the areas of medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, vehicle negligence and other types of complex litigation. Ms. Gonzales-Jonasz’ experience in medical malpractice and health-care related litigation is extensive. She has defended and served as trial counsel for medical professionals, healthcare staffing agencies, and dentists. She has also represented health care providers in claims brought by the Florida Department of Health Administration.
Ms. Gonzales-Jonasz received her Juris Doctor degree from DePaul College of Law (Chicago, Illinois) and her Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago. Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane in 2001, Ms. Gonzales-Jonasz practiced law in Chicago, Illinois in civil defense litigation.
Ms. Gonzales-Jonasz is a member in several legal organizations, including the invitation-only American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), the Florida Bar, Illinois Bar, Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Miami-Dade Chapter, and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
