Overview

Gregory J. Willis practices in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale West office where he concentrates on civil litigation but has a diverse practice that includes all areas of insurance defense litigation including construction litigation, bad faith/extra-contractual liability, liquor liability defense, environmental/toxic spills and trucking accident defense. Mr. Willis is also experienced in transactional law and health law matters. He has lectured extensively on many areas of law. Previously, Mr. Willis managed the corporate law department of a large insurance carrier and was general counsel to a health care company, in addition to practicing as a civil litigation attorney for over twenty years. He is an active participant in the firm’s SIU Fraud Division representing carriers by bringing affirmative complaints and counterclaims on their behalf.

After graduating from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a B.A. in economics and political science, Mr. Willis attended the University of Miami School of Law where he graduated with honors.  While at the University of Miami School of Law, he was the editor-in-chief of the University of Miami Journal of International Law.

Mr. Willis has tried cases in Broward, Dade, Monroe, Polk, and Palm Beach Counties, as well as in the United District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He has also successfully handled appeals in both the Florida District Courts of Appeal and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit.
