Overview

Clarke S. Sturge is a partner with the firm’s Miami office. He practices in all phases of civil litigation including insurance defense, product liability and toxic tort.

Mr. Sturge attended the University of Central Florida where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and a Master of Arts in Political Science. He then earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law with honors. While in law school, Mr. Sturge was awarded double honors in the University of Miami Litigation Skills program. He was further awarded a scholarship by the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for his litigation skills.

After graduation from law school, Mr. Sturge served as an Assistant State Attorney in the 11th Judicial Circuit prosecuting criminal defendants in cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony crimes. While serving as a misdemeanor prosecutor, he was selected for a supervisor “Commit” position which provided him the opportunity to serve as a courtroom supervisor for the State of Florida.

After leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Sturge’s practice has encompassed the areas of general civil litigation including commercial litigation, personal injury, admiralty, insurance defense, appellate work and criminal defense.

Mr. Sturge is licensed to practice in all Florida County and Circuit Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Mr. Sturge has also been active providing guest lectures to paralegal students at Florida International University and law students at the University of Miami School of Law.
