Overview

Linda C. Sweeting is a civil trial attorney in the firm’s West Palm Beach office. She has had a diversified practice that includes litigation and management of civil cases including catastrophic and personal injury, wrongful death, automobile negligence, premises liability, medical malpractice, negligent security, product liability, toxic tort, trucking accident litigation, general civil litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. Over the years, Ms. Sweeting has represented both defendants and plaintiffs.

Ms. Sweeting received her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She then attended the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. Ms. Sweeting is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Court Mediator. She has been a member of the Florida Bar in good standing and admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida since 1985. Ms. Sweeting maintains an AV Preeminent ® (5.0) rating from Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings, which indicates that her peers rank her at the highest level of professional excellence. She has also been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers of America by The Best Lawyers in America® since 2023 in the area of Personal Injury Litigation based on confidential opinions of her peers, representing the top 5% of practicing lawyers in the United States.

Ms. Sweeting served on the Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee of the Florida Bar for six (6) years. During that time, she conducted Diversity Training for Florida’s JNC Commissioners who nominate candidates for judicial appointment. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, now known as the Florida Justice Association; and she acted as Chair of the Women’s Caucus. In the community, she has worked with Junior Achievement teaching in schools and also served as co-leader of a Girl Scout troupe. Today she participates in charities that include the Alzheimer’s Association, American Parkinson’s Disease Association, and American Diabetes Association®.
