Gabriela S. Lazaro Cicero is an Associate in the firm’s Miami office, where she focuses her practice on commercial litigation, business disputes, professional liability litigation, and employment and labor matters.
Ms. Lazaro earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. During law school, she was recognized with multiple honors, including the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement and the HOPE Pro Bono & Community Service Challenge Award. She served as a Staff Editor for The University of Miami Business Law Review and gained hands-on experience as a legal intern with the University of Miami School of Law Children and Youth Clinic, advocating for children in foster care and former foster youth in dependency proceedings.
After graduation, Ms. Lazaro practiced at mid-sized general practice law firms before dedicating three years to Americans for Immigrant Justice, where she represented unaccompanied immigrant children in federal and state proceedings. Her work positively impacted the lives of more than 300 minors, and she continues to provide pro bono services to the organization. She later served as Associate General Counsel for Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, where she gained extensive litigation and trial experience in first-party property matters, before joining Cole, Scott & Kissane.
A Miami native fluent in Spanish, Ms. Lazaro is deeply committed to both her clients and her community. Beyond her legal practice, she enjoys teaching Pilates, exploring the latest in biohacking, and crafting witty, creative out-of-office emails that invite colleagues and clients along on her travel adventures.
