Overview
Devante Jamar Isaacs is an Associate in the firm's Fort Lauderdale East office. He primarily practices in the areas of accountant's malpractice, banking and financial, business/commercial law, commercial litigation, country club, condominium and homeowners' association law, directors and officers, employment and labor, insurance defense litigation, legal malpractice, and securities litigation.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Isaacs earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University before obtaining his Master of Business Administration, graduating summa cum laude from West Chester University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, Mr. Isaacs served as Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association, where he supported organizational governance and professional development initiatives. He also gained practical client advocacy experience through his work with the Veterans Clinic, assisting veterans with a variety of legal matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Isaacs completed several competitive internships that provided broad exposure to litigation and government practice. He interned with the City Attorney’s Office for Lauderhill, FL, assisting with municipal legal matters and administrative proceedings, and with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he supported prosecutorial case preparation and courtroom proceedings. He also gained experience at a prominent bankruptcy firm, assisting with debtor-side representation and financial restructuring matters.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Isaacs worked as a Law Clerk his second and third year of law school at Cole, Scott & Kissane, where he has assisted attorneys several phases of civil litigation, including legal research, drafting substantive motions, and case preparation.
