Steven R. McCommon is an associate in the firm’s Jacksonville office. He practices in the area of general defense litigation, with an emphasis on premises liability, trucking/transportation, environmental law, and insurance coverage.
Mr. McCommon graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Environmental Science and an Environmental Policy Specialization. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law with an Environmental Law Certificate of Concentration. Mr. McCommon was selected as an editor of the Journal of International Wildlife Law & Policy and served as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem during his time in law school.
Prior to working with Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., Mr. McCommon worked at a major eDiscovery firm, specializing in database management and quality assurance for a wide array of complex cases. He also worked as an intern at the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County, where he assisted counsel in disputes involving riparian rights, zoning ordinances, and wetland mitigation.
