Shane Kirk is an associate in the firm’s West Palm Beach office. He focuses his practice on condominium and homeowners’ association law, general civil litigation, construction, cyber risk/privacy liability, medical malpractice, nursing home health care, nursing malpractice, premises liability and vehicle negligence.
Mr. Kirk previously was an Assistant State Attorney for the State Attorney’s Office of the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida, Broward County, for five years. He left the State Attorney’s Office as a member of a special unit, the Sexual Battery/Child Abuse Unit. Mr. Kirk held senior positions as a Lead prosecutor in the Felony Trial Unit and a Lead prosecutor in the Misdemeanor Trial Unit. He has significant trial experience and motion practice in both Capital and Punishable by Life crimes. During his time at the State Attorney’s Office he tried homicides (1st and 2nd Degree Murders, Manslaughters with Firearm/Weapons), sex offenses, firearm offenses, economic offenses, personal/property offenses, and DUIs. In 2013, Mr. Kirk was one of two prosecutors selected to litigate the Substantial Compliance motions for the 17th Circuit as it relates to DUI offenses.
