Robert Swift is a partner in the firm’s Orlando office, a Board Certified Civil Trial lawyer, and is a Certified Civil Circuit Mediator. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Western New England College School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Swift was member of the school’s Law Review. Mr. Swift received various academic awards including letters of distinction for excellence in Torts and Insurance Law and the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement award.
Mr. Swift performed his undergraduate work at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He received a B.A. in English Literature, and completed one semester in London, England.
Mr. Swift’s background includes over twenty years in the property-casualty industry, managing a litigation department and overseeing corporate litigation matters, including class actions and bad faith. He has experience handling Errors and Omissions claims, including those brought against insurance brokers and agents. Mr. Swift achieved his CPCU designation, and is a past President of CPCU’s Central Florida Chapter. Mr. Swift also holds a Florida Resident General Lines (220) license that includes Property, Casualty, Surety, Marine, Health and Miscellaneous Lines. He has been a guest speaker at various industry conferences on a wide variety of topics, including errors and omission, low impact bodily injury defense, fraud deterrence, insurance coverage and professional liability. He is an active participant in the firm’s SIU fraud, child behavorial health care, toxic tort and insurance coverage divisions representing carriers by bringing affirmative complaints and counterclaims on their behalf.
Mr. Swift is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut and all State and Federal courts of Florida.
