Richard R. Mercure is an associate based out of the Jacksonville office of Cole, Scott & Kissane.
Rick graduated with Honors from the University of Florida in 2009. In 2012, he obtained his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. During his law school tenure, Rick was hand-selected amongst the largest class in school history to be the Research Assistant to a leading criminal defense attorney and professor at the law school. Additionally, Rick’s legal writing skills secured him a coveted position on the the Law Review and the Dean’s List.
Rick gained extensive trial experience while working at the Public Defender’s offices in Gainesville, Miami, and Fort Myers, as well as in private practice. He has litigated thousands of cases, ranging from simple misdemeanors to capital felonies to highly contested divorces. While in private practice, Rick has earned the Avvo Client’s Choice Award three (3) years in a row, as well as the “10 Best” Lawyers for Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys.
Having acquired extensive courtroom experience, Rick turned his focus to civil litigation in 2017 and has not looked back since.
Rick is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
