Rachelle Carnes is an associate in Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A.’s Tampa office. Her practice focuses on first-party property insurance claims.
Ms. Carnes attended the University of South Florida where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. She received both of these degrees with highest honors, summa cum laude. Ms. Carnes earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Stetson University College of Law. Throughout law school, Ms. Carnes made the Honor Roll and Dean’s List. While in law school, Ms. Carnes received the highest grade distinction in five courses: Criminal Law, Aging and the Law, History of Western Legal Thought, Comparative Criminal Law, and Advanced Legal Research. Ms. Carnes was also awarded the Victor O. Wehle Award for excellence in Trial Advocacy.
While in law school, Ms. Carnes was involved in a variety of experiential learning activities. Throughout her second year of law school, she was the research assistant to a professor with an accomplished background in contracts and remedies. In her third year, Ms. Carnes spent a semester as a Certified Legal Intern for the Office of the State Attorney, 13th Circuit, where she supported Assistant State Attorneys in the prosecution of misdemeanors. Ms. Carnes also worked as a Virtual Intern for the U.S. Department of Justice, assisting in the DOJ’s Elder Justice Initiative.
