Michelle Muskus is an associate in the First Party Property division in the firm’s Miami office. She practices in the area of general civil litigation focusing on insurance defense of first party property claims and bad faith claims. Her experience spans numerous types of property losses, including theft, wind, water, and other storm related losses
Ms. Muskus graduated from the University of Miami School of Law. While in school, she taught a legal elective class at Coral Gables Senior Highschool and was part of the Innocence Clinic. She also interned for the Honorable Migna Sanchez-Llorens in the 11th Judicial Circuit where she provided organizational support to the Judge by reviewing case files for accuracy and completeness, conducted case law research and informed litigants and witnesses concerning court procedures and policy.
As a Miami native, prior to attending law school, Michelle studied mass communications, earning a bachelors in advertising with an area of concentration in sociology from Florida International University. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Michelle practiced First Party Property representing insureds. There she litigated a high volume of cases effectively and gained extensive experience in motion practice, arguing hearings and negotiation.
Michelle is licensed to practice in the state of Florida and in federal court within the Southern District of Florida.
