Kimberly A. Canals is a Partner in the firm's Tampa office. Ms. Canals devotes her practice to construction litigation and risk management counseling, including the representation of design professionals in professional liability claims, developers, contractors, and subcontractors in construction defect, contract, subrogation claims, and commercial general liability. She specializes in construction and design defects of commercial and residential properties throughout Florida. She is routinely involved in cases where the amounts in dispute exceed $10,000,000.000.
Ms. Canals graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis on Neuroscience. Ms. Canals then served the community by working in the Florida Child Welfare system. After her child welfare career, Ms. Canals attended the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 2018 having earned eight book awards. While in law school, Ms. Canals served as the Secretary and Governor with the Law Student Division of the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar, Magistra of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, competed with the National Mock Trial Team, and was actively involved in numerous other student organizations.
Ms. Canals is approved by The Florida Bar to provide Continuing Legal Education to attorneys and Continuing Education to insurance claims professionals on various topics.
