Karly A. Wannos is a partner in the firm’s West Palm Beach office. Ms. Wannos focuses on defending employers at the administrative and trial levels in all aspects of employment litigation, including lawsuits alleging discrimination, harassment and retaliation in violation of federal, state and local laws. She also regularly defends employers in equal pay claims, unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation retaliation, whistleblower, and wrongful termination matters. Additionally, Ms. Wannos has extensive experience in minimum wage and overtime claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Ms. Wannos also partners with employers to address day-to-day issues concerning compensation and benefits, human resource policies and procedures, employee hiring, discipline and discharge, compliance, risk management, internal investigations, governmental investigations and audits, wage and hour compliance. Ms. Wannos also prepares, reviews, and updates Employee Handbooks and other employment policies, as well as drafts employment contracts, separation agreements, and releases.
Ms. Wannos also offers education and training for both management and staff, in order to assist companies in preventing discrimination and harassment in the workplace. Ms. Wannos also regularly assists employers on issues arising under wage and hour laws, including the proper classification of exempt and non-exempt employees.
