Joshua Edmundson is an associate in the firm’s Orlando office. His practice focusses primarily on insurance defense in first and third party litigation. Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Mr. Edmundson served as a Judicial Law Clerk with the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida – an opportunity he credits as the source of unique insight that guides his approach to the practice of law. Upon completion of his two-year clerkship, Joshua accepted an offer to continue serving the judiciary as a staff attorney.
Splitting much of his time between chambers and the courtroom during his years with the Court, Joshua was called on to advise and assist multiple Judges, drafting orders and opinions ruling on hundreds of high-stakes cases spanning the range of dockets managed by Florida’s Circuit Courts – including the 5th Judicial Circuit’s Appellate Panel.
Those years of practice, combined with his time at CSK, provide Joshua with procedural and substantive experience handling matters concerning: general business disputes, business organizations, insurance, breach of contract, conversion, medical malpractice, circuit-civil employment and workers compensation claims, declaratory judgment actions, general liability, PIP, property disputes, premises liability claims, HOAs, high-asset dissolution, post-dissolution practice, estates and trusts, will contests, municipalities, election law, code enforcement, construction defect, and third party claims, complex civil litigation involving indemnity and subrogation, appeals, and extraordinary remedies such as Writs of Certiorari, Habeas Corpus, and etc.
Mr. Edmundson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida. During his undergraduate years, Mr. Edmundson played an active role in student leadership and advocacy, serving on the Student Senate and presiding as the chair of several committees. He earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the Florida A & M College of Law, where he was selected for a judicial externship with the Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit and received book awards for earning the highest grades in Legal Methods and Property courses. In his free time, Joshua enjoys visual and performing arts as well as modern design and architecture.
