Joseph M. Cline


Joseph M. Cline is an Associate Attorney with the Offices of Cole, Scott and Kissane P.A. Mr. Cline represents clients in Construction and complex business litigation matters.

Mr. Cline began his career in law, not as an attorney, but as a Correctional Officer. After several years in corrections, Mr. Cline became an officer with the Adult Parole Authority, where he served on a joint fugitive apprehension task force under the direction of the U.S. Marshal’s Office. While a law enforcement officer, Mr. Cline was actively involved with his labor union and worked alongside general counsel gaining experience in both contract negotiation, and various forms of conflict resolution. Mr. Cline promoted through the ranks of the union and eventually became the youngest and only unopposed Chapter President in the local’s history. Through his combined efforts with the union and law enforcement, Mr. Cline developed a deeply rooted passion for the law and for advocating the rights of others.

Mr. Cline received his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, graduating in the top 7% of his class with 3.40 grade point average. Mr. Cline was on the Honor Roll and Dean’s List for seven semesters and was also awarded the Certificate of Merit for: legal writing, advanced legal Writing, and Estate Planning. As a result of his academic achievement Mr. Cline was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.

While in Law school Mr. Cline received the Leadership Achievement Award, Scholars in Service Award and was voted Law Student of the Year by the faculty and student body. Mr. Cline proudly served as a Staff Attorney Intern in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit’s Felony Trial Division.

Mr. Cline is admitted to the Bar of the State Bar of Florida and United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, The Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Lakeland Bar Association.

In his free time Mr. Cline is active in a number of charitable activities and philanthropic works. Mr. Cline is also the proud father of four girls.
