Jonathan Portuondo is an associate with the firm’s Miami office. Mr. Portuondo practices in civil litigation, including commercial litigation, security negligence, and professional malpractice.
Mr. Portuondo is a Miami native and first-generation Cuban-American. He attended Florida International University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and received a Book Award from the University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
Mr. Portuondo then attended the University of Miami School of Law, as a Dean’s Merit Scholar, where he earned his Juris Doctor. While attending the University of Miami, Mr. Portuondo interned at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office where he worked alongside the Homicide Division Chief on multiple cases and participated in three homicide trials. Mr. Portuondo was awarded honors from the University of Miami’s Litigation Skills program for his performance in the program’s final mock trial. Mr. Portuondo further developed his trial advocacy skills by spending his final semester under the training of Miami trial attorney, Roy Black.
Mr. Portuondo is licensed to practice in all Florida Circuit and County Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Portuondo is also fluent in Spanish.
