Jason Sexton is an associate in the firm’s Orlando office. Mr. Sexton focuses his practice in the areas of complex commercial and civil litigation, with an emphasis in first party property, professional malpractice, and condominium/homeowners’ association.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Jason earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, with University Honors, from the University of Central Florida with a major in Legal Studies and minors in Political Science and Economics. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School. Mr. Sexton received numerous awards and recognition for his participation in Vanderbilt’s Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions, serving as a board member for the Moot Court board and as president of the Mock Trial board. He also received the Pro Bono Pledge award for his contributions to indigent criminal defendants and an award for his participation on an interdisciplinary panel competition sponsored by Vanderbilt and Meharry Medical College.
Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Mr. Sexton worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the Nashville Metropolitan Public Defender’s Office, where he tried dozens of cases to verdict. He has also worked in the fields of real estate and consumer protection law.
