Jamila Alexander is an associate in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale East Office. Ms. Alexander’s practice is focused in the area of first party property coverage, carrier representation and property damage defense.
Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Ms. Alexander had considerable litigation experience in Florida’s state, federal and administrative courts. Ms. Alexander successfully represented insurance companies, commercial businesses and individuals in a wide variety of disputes, including first-party property, vehicle negligence, premises liability and casualty matters. Ms. Alexander is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts and the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Alexander is from Florida, where she graduated with high honors (summa cum laude) from Florida A&M University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and a Minor in English. She earned her Juris Doctor with honors (cum laude) from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Alexander was awarded a full scholarship through the Florida Education Fund’s Minority Participation in Legal Education and the Dean’s Scholarship Program. She was a member of the Society of Bar and Gavel, the highest honor society at the law school and served as an Articles and Comments Editor for the University of Miami School of Law Business Law Review.
