David Rickenbecker Sutton III primarily focuses his practice on defending Architects, Contractors, Developers and Engineers in Construction Defects litigation, although he also defends Doctors and Medical Professionals in Medical and Nursing Home Malpractice suits in addition to defending small business owners and individuals in general civil litigation matters.

At the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Mr. Sutton focused his studies preparing to be a litigator while serving as the Executive Vice President of the Florida Trial Team.  As a Mock Trial Advocate, Mr. Sutton won the UF Intramural Competition in 2017, the Chester Bedell Florida Bar Competition in 2018, and finished as a Semi-Finalist in the National Civil Rights Tournament hosted in New York City in 2018.  Mr. Sutton also coached younger mock trial advocates who won the UF Intramural Competition in 2018 and received the book award in Trial Practice.

A Jacksonville native, Mr. Sutton moved north to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to attend Lehigh University where he rowed on the crew team and worked for the local historical society.  Following undergrad, Mr. Sutton spent four years in Philadelphia as a Finance Manager for the Faulkner Auto Group where he got hands on experience with the joys and challenges of working for a small business.  When he’s not at the office, Mr. Sutton enjoys travelling, fishing, and cheering on the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars.
