Anwar Twine Thomas is an Associate Attorney with Cole, Scott, & Kissane, P.A.’s Tampa office. His practice focuses in the area of first-party property claims. Anwar earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Marketing, and Business Management, with a minor in English from, the Florida State University. After completing his undergraduate degree, he went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami’s school of law.
During his time in law school, Anwar worked as an intern with the organized-crime division of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, and as a certified legal intern for the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office. Additionally, during his time in law school Anwar was an active volunteer, working with UM Law’s HOPE Public Interest Resource Center, Lawyers to The Rescue, and mentored at-risk-youth through the Empowered Youth Mentoring Program.
After graduating law school, Anwar worked with the Law of Offices of the Public Defender for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, in Tampa, Florida, where he was the attorney of record for thousands of cases, conducted hundreds of depositions, and litigated several jury trials as well as bench trials to verdict. Post law school, Anwar continues to serve his community by volunteering and through pro bono work with Bay Area Legal Services in addition to serving as a mentor and tutor to youth in the Men of Tomorrow program.
Anwar enjoys spending time with family, friends, and playing his saxophone.
