Amy Recla was born in Denver but raised in Tampa, Florida. She attended the University of Central Florida where she was a member of the Honor College and Presidential Leadership Program. While at UCF, she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society as well as Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society. After UCF, Ms. Recla attended the University of South Florida where she obtained a Master’s Degree in English Literature. While at USF, she worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching English Composition. Prior to attending law school at Stetson University College of Law, Ms. Recla worked as a claims adjuster and claims supervisor for a national auto insurance company. While at Stetson, Ms. Recla worked full-time as a law clerk for a civil litigation firm specializing in real estate. She was inducted into Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society and was a member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers while at Stetson.
Ms. Recla practices in the area of civil litigation defense, focusing on all aspects of employment and labor law, including discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower and wage & hour claims. She also defends claims involving premises liability, personal injury, automobile negligence, E&O, third party property disputes, as well as other general liability issues. Ms. Recla has additional experience defending insurance carriers and servicing agents, including catastrophic and SIU claims, and personal injury protection claims (PIP). She is a member of the Florida Bar and Hillsborough County Bar Association.
