Overview

Franklin Antonio Jara is a Partner in the West Palm Beach, Florida office. Mr. Jara has represented both employees and management in employment litigation before state and federal courts in Florida, Federal Courts in Illinois, as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Florida Commission on Human Relations, Illinois Human Rights Commission, and other administrative agencies. Mr. Jara has experience litigating issues such as employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, overtime and unpaid wages, leave and disability issues, employment contracts, and other employment law claims under various state and federal laws.

Prior to joining Cole, Scott, & Kissane, Mr. Jara had his own practice where he focused his efforts on representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in commercial litigation, discrimination, and overtime disputes. Mr. Jara attended Florida International University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, in Political Science and certification in Latin American and Caribbean studies in 1998. He then earned his Juris Doctorate degree, from Nova Southeastern University in 2002.

Mr. Jara is also admitted to practice before all Florida courts, federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court; United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida and the United States District Court for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of Illinois.

Mr. Jara is Fluent in Spanish.
