David Salazar is a partner in the firm's Miami office, who focuses his practice on the areas of construction, banking, and the defense of catastrophic injury cases.
Mr. Salazar earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida, cum laude, and a Juris Doctorate from Stetson University. While in law school, he received several honors and distinctions, including: Honor Roll; Highest Grade in Federal Constitutional Law; President of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Fraternity; Research Assistant for Professor Michael Allen in the context of Eleventh Amendment Sovereign Immunity; Judicial Intern for the Honorable Thomas B. McCoun of the Federal Court for the Middle District of Florida; Judicial Intern for the Honorable R. Timothy Peters for the Sixth Circuit Court of Florida; Who's Who Among American Law Students; Judge for Teen Court Truancy Hearings in Florida's Sixth Judicial Circuit; and one of two, dean-appointed, student representatives of the Law School's 10-year tactical task force. This tactical task force was an organization charged with improving the Law School's academic standards and standing in the legal community.
Mr. Salazar was the Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (“FDLA”) from 2007 to 2008, and was re-inducted as Co-Chair for the 2008 to 2009, 2009 to 2010, and 2010 to 2011 Administrations. Mr. Salazar was named one of Florida Trend's Legal Elite, Up-and-Comers, for 2008, 2009, and 2010. He was also named one of Miami-Dade County's 40 under 40 Outstanding Lawyers by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2009. Mr. Salazar was awarded the James A. Dixon, Young Lawyer of the Year Award, by the FDLA for 2010. In 2011, he was named as a Florida Rising Star in Florida SuperLawyers Magazine.
Mr. Salazar is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Supreme Court of Florida and all other State courts within the State of Florida.
